English is the language used by scientists around the world. It is estimated that 80% of Scopus journals contain articles written entirely in English. Publishing in English allows the widest possible group of readers to be reached, thanks to which researchers can learn about the results of research conducted in different parts of the world.
English is not the mother tongue of many academics which can make it a challenge to write and publish in this language. Academic publications must meet the highest quality standards and cannot contain linguistic and logical errors, so often made by those whose knowledge of the English language is imperfect. Therefore, so as not to waste the enormous amount of effort put into writing a scientific article, it is worth having it proofread by a native English speaker who is a professional editor of academic texts.
